Gagetown...?

We are waiting to receive a posting message from the CF right now and Chad informed me a few days ago that they need 12 people from his platoon to come forward and volunteer to be posted in Gagetown NB. Niether of us want to be posted to Gagetown. Me, because it just doesn't sound like much fun (lol) I haven't heard many nice things about that base. And Chad, for career reasons. Well, yesterday it came down to the staff picking names out of a hat! (weird.) And Chad was not one of the chosen names!! YAY!

If he was chosen, it would have been a good thing in the short term scheme of things because then we would have an idea of where we will be after his training is done in April. Long term, I don't think wither of us would be very happy there. But in this lifestyle, you take what you get and that's all there is to it!

So anyway, the options are Edmonton and Petawawa now. And just FYI, we put in a request for Petawawa for many personal reasons. But I guess we'll see what happens! I'm just hoping they don't stick us in some silly one bedroom place with no heating or something like that! lol

In other news, my sister has Atticus for the night and the toddler-free evening with my twincesses was a wonderful change. Although I really miss my little mister! I have a huge day of cleaning and organizing ahead of me tomorrow! You would think I would take the time to rest and relax while my 2 year old is gone right? I may be obsessed with this homemaker thing... *sigh*

Pink and Cute!

A while back I ordered some Katelyn & co. pettiskirts for the twins. They are so incredibly cute! I have to share some pictures of them in their adorable new skirts!

Hadley, not too impressed about mommy taking a picture.

My living room is so much more functional!

My latest big purchase (besides my new vacuum cleaner!) Is a TROFAST toy storage system from Ikea.

I love it so much!!! Isn't it beautiful?!

I have been admirning it for a while and I think maybe it's an early Valentine's Day gift! hehe
It is so amazingly roomy in there! I can't believe how much it can hold. With three kids 2 and under, there is still an empty bin in there! I didn't think there would be enough room for it all.
It took a while to put together though! I have a feeling it would have been alot quicker if I had a hubby around to put it together for me. Luckily I have lots of experience with the Ikea bunk bed. They are put together the same! LOL

Atticus has really been enjoying it too! He love to stand in front of it and admire how many bins have his toys in them and that only one has the babies toys in them. And check out the first thing he did with it after I put it together...

I think it's safe to say he's a little obsessed with trains!

Change for the better.

It`s amazing how someone can say one thing to you and it can change your entire perspective of something.

I have been having such a hard time lately. Just feeling so frustrated with our situation at the moment and hopeless as though it will never get better. Today somebody said something to me that caught me off guard. I had shared with Miss Natalie at our Little Wonders class that my husband  has been away for 7 months now. And she said "Well, you know, you've been chosen to do this for a reason."

I didn't think much of it in that moment but it hit me hard on the drive home. (Which is a long one.)

We really are doing this for a reason. We're going through all this pain and separation so that our family can have a great life. Sure it is very difficult for all  of us now. But it's short term pain for long term gain. We have come so far. Seven months since Basic Training started and Chad is just finishing Phase 1 of his DP1 course! We are so proud of him! Just 2 more moths to go and we'll be out of the (training) woods!

My huge revelation of the day is I need to strive to go about this in a positive way. I NEED to be both mommy and daddy right now and love the kids the way they deserve. I NEED to uplift and encourage my husband right now as much as I can because he needs it. And I NEED to take time for my self as well.

It will continue to be struggle. I already know that. But we'll continue to get through as a family.

One day at a time.

Picture Challenge: Day 24

Day 24 - A picture of something you wish you could change.

Being separated from my husband is SO hard. And some days I feel like I'm not going to make it. It is so difficult to be a "single" mom. Especially with the ages of our kids. I already know this is the life we have chosen for us and our family. I think it will be a totally different scenario when he is deployed. Then I know he away from us for a very good reason. Right now it just seems silly. He is still in Canada on a base doing training where many of the men he is training with have their families on base with them. That makes our situation so frustrating. I could really use a husband living with me right now and my kids could really use a father. I also thought it would get easier as time goes on. I just seems to get harder every day. I feel like we're losing this battle and It's never going to be over.  And as it stands right now, our life dead-ends in April. We have the babies' birthday and Chad's graduation from his course to think about. And that's it. I have absolutely no idea where we will be after that. That's really hard to deal with too! Especially since I like to plan things far in advance.

"Keep Calm and Carry on..."

Picture Challenge: Day 23

Day 23 - A picture of your favorite book.

This was my favorite book as a child and read it to my kids all the time... Love it! I tear up sometimes when I read it... When I can pay attention to it that is.

Picture Challenge: Day 22

Day 22 - A picture of something you wish you were better at.

Parallel Parking.  I could parallel park up until I took my drivers test and now I can't do it to save my life! Not on the first try anyway! LOL
