Summer Block Leave Part 2

Our second camping trip was at Camping Paradis near Ottawa so we could do some shopping and tourist-y stuff too.  Chad and I would really like to get to know Ontario... neither of us know where anything is! Other than Ottawa.

Anyway, here are some pictures of our second camping trip. It definitely wasn't as nice as the first but we enjoyed ourselves anyway!

 Papanack Park Zoo.

Atticus telling me how big the bear is.
He said these were his favorite animals at the zoo.
We let them loose! They look a little scared... lol.

For some reason, Hadley would crouch down or lay down whenever we stopped in front of a new cage.

Back at the campground, Avah-lynn being goofy.

Shopping at Costco in Ottawa. They enjoyed the seat together. We don't have carts like that in Petawawa!

 Bath time!

Summer Block Leave Part 1

I'm sorry I disappeared! We have been enjoying Chad's summer leave which was 3 weeks long. He is now back to work and I have lots of pictures to share.

It has been nice and relaxing as well as busy.

For the first week, we went camping at Mount Opeongo Resort and had a blast! The kids all did really good for our first camping trip as a family.

The girls trying out her new camping chair.

Eating our first meal at the campground.

Atticus sitting on his bike at the campfire.

 Bath time!
Checking out the morning view. Love this picture!

Atticus waiting for his s'mores to cool down.
 Trying his very first one!

 Tickling Avah-Lynn!
 Beautiful Hadley.

Bigger and bigger...

My little girls are growing up so fast.

I can't help but have a little cry about it. Hormones maybe? I think so.

I'm so proud of everything they have accomplished already and the two so very different personalities they have each developed. It's so sad to think of how quickly time goes.

I can think of more than a thousand moments in the past 3 years that I wish I would have soaked up just a little bit more. Because time goes by so fast.

They won't always be little like this.

Avah-Lynn and Hadley are each 29 inches tall. That means they've graduated from their infant car seats! They are still rear facing of course. But seem to love their new car seats.

Happy little girls with snack in hand ready to go to the beach!

I have been dreading getting rid of the infant carseats and the double snap n go because it is SO much easier to just throw the car seats in the stroller. Turns out it's not so bad.

We ♥ the beach!

This is where we live now... coming from Calgary, I'm in awe.

Isn't it beautiful?

We have 2 beaches 5 minutes from us and another beach about 10 minutes from us.

This is Petawawa Point. My favorite.

Army wife!

That's me!

I found this online tonight and thought it was cute and very true too! (Chad is at a troop party tonight, I have time to surf the net!)

Recipe for a Military Spouse

1 1/2 cups Patience
1 lb. Adaptability
3/4 cup Tolerance
1 tsp. Courage
A Dash of Adventure

Combine above ingredients: Add 2 tablespoons elbow grease. Let sit alone for one year. Marinate frequently with salty tears. Pour off excess fat. Sprinkle lightly with money. "Knead" dough until payday. Season with international spices. Bake 20 years or until done.....

I'm currently working on the Adaptability part... sometimes my life doesn't go the way I planned because Chad needs to be somewhere else. There are so many perks to living a military life though and I am loving it so much!

Surprise!

What's better than a family of five?

A family of Six!

That's right! We are expecting another little one in January 2012!!!

We are so excited!!!!! And it is just one baby for those of you wondering... hehe

I had an ultrasound when I was about 7 weeks along and we were able to see a healthy baby with a very strong heartbeat!

I am about 12 weeks now and feeling much better. It was a rough go for a while there but I kept my mouth shut! Now I can complain out loud on Facebook!

Atticus is really excited for this baby and is completely convinced it's a Boy. When one of the twins sits or  lays down on my belly, he comes over and tells them to get off his baby brother. lol! So cute!

Father's day weekend

My kids have THE BEST dad ever.

We have a crazy family life that never stops. And he has been there every step of the way for me and his kids. I am so grateful to have him as a husband and father of my children.

I did my best to spoil him on father's day because he deserves it. Big time!

The best way to spoil Chad? Food.

I made him Chocolate Chip Pancakes for breakfast. Later that morning, we headed out to Brum's Dairy for some real Ice Cream. It was Amazing. Is it okay to go back there every weekend? hehe

Everybody (Except Hadley) loved it!

And for dinner I made Steak with shrimp in a garlic cream sauce with Fettuccine Alfredo and Caesar Salad. And Chocolate cupcakes for dessert! It was so yummy!

On Saturday we took the kids to Civic Center Days and had a blast! Atticus went on fair rides for the first time and played some games too. We saw animals which the twins really enjoyed. And Atticus got to go in some bouncy castles!

Waiting to go on the train.

Having a snack, watching Atticus on the train.

Riding the fire truck all by himself!

 Picking a duck.

He won a fish!

It was great weekend!
