Christmas Eve

I really worked hard this year to make the Christmas season exciting and special for the kids. Or maybe it was just for me. It's really hard to enjoy without family and friends near. I think this will be foreshadowing many Christmases to come since there isn't really anywhere else that Chad could be posted. Unless he changed his career path. Anyway, it was really important for us to start own Christmas traditions this year.

Christmas eve was a blast!
Decorating Sugar cookies.

And a gingerbread house!

Most of the candy was eaten before it actually got on the house.

The finished product. They did a very good job!

Our lunch that day! Yummy!

A very cute idea from one of Atticus' friends. Feeding the reindeer! Even though it was FREEZING outside, they enjoyed throwing it all over the place.  Then promptly went back inside! I didn't argue! lol

Putting milk and cookies out for Santa. Amazingly enough, the twins seemed to understand that they were for Santa. There were no temper tantrums about wanting to eat one.

Opening their Christmas Eve present... Christmas PJ's!!!!

Avah-Lynn loved them so much, she carried them around until bath time.

Everyone in their PJ's all ready to hear The Night Before Christmas.

Decorating the Christmas Tree... & more.

I realize these pictures are extremely out-dated. And for that I am sorry... The USB port on our computer stopped working so we had to get a new computer! (YAY!)

And just FYI, the next few posts after this one will also be out-dated. Anyway, Enjoy!

We decorated the Christmas tree In the middle of December after the HFMD and colds made their rounds in our home. The first day we were feeling well enough to actually enjoy it. Otherwise it would have been done much earlier in the month. The kids had a great time putting the ornaments on the tree. It was slightly disastrous because the ornaments kept getting dropped and broken or chewed on. So, that night Chad and I moved them all up so that only the top half of the tree was decorated. VERY Smart move on our part but the tree looks ridiculous. lol I'm sure it will have to be only half decorated for a few years to come!

A little repetitive, but here are some fun pictures of our adventures in decorating the tree..

The RCD Christmas Party... It was lots of fun but visiting Santa was TERRIBLE! Atticus was so excited in the line up and as soon as we got to Santa, he FREAKED out. and of course the twins began to cry the as well.

They were fine after they got their presents from Santa.

And one last picture of the twins modelling their new outfits made by Great Granny Mo.

Painting Ornaments for the grandparents.

At the Community Center Christmas party.

Atticus all ready to shovel the snow! Our ONLY snowfall so far. And it's all gone now!

Decorating the house!

Not sure what a Stocking is for...

Avah-Lynn LOVES her stocking!
Putting stickers on the window.

Showing me her sparkly star.
More to come!
