Dear Christmas...

I can't believe how close you're getting. Time, please slow down just a bit!

63 days until Christmas. 84 days until Baby #4's due date.

I'm not even close to being prepared for either one... *sigh* It's just not like me. And I hate it.

The Organized Christmas Countdown starts today. This is my second year doing the countdown. Last year it helped me to organize everything early and actually enjoy Christmas. I will be huge around Christmas time and just don't want to spend the time running around everywhere. Especially with three young kids and all of our activities happening, I find it hard to get anything "extra" done. And with the new baby on the way, and everything we've been putting off getting to get ready for that baby. I just need to be organized.
I'm excited to get started on my planner tonight!

If your life is chaotic and you like being organized, join me!

To do list update!

Well, we are now half way through Chad's Ex. Yeah, he can come home anytime now.
The kids have all been fantastic for me! For the most part anyway.

On Thanksgiving Sunday, Hadley ended up in the hospital again. Poor little girl. I'm happy to report that she has a specialist appointment at CHEO on December 6th! I can't wait to have this thing figured out. Whatever it is.

Atticus had an eventful week with the fire department visiting his preschool. I guess he didn't get too much out of it though because he was terrified. Yes, my little boy who LOVES anything with wheels did not want to see the firetruck! Silly kid... I think he regrets it now.

I've been NESTING!!! I'm 27 weeks tomorrow and I still feel like it's too early to do anything to get ready for a new baby. But my gleaming house, folded laundry and extra to-do projects that are finally done say otherwise! Here's a little update on the things that I have accomplished so far.

  • The curtains for the kitchen have been hemmed. And I just received my fabric order. So I have washed all the fabric and plan to pin my projects tonight after the kids are in bed! OH! And I finished all my mending weeks ago!
  • I tackled my loads of paper work last night. Everything has been filed and put away.
  • I washed and folded all of the newborn clothes. Of course, we don't have a dresser to put it in yet though so it has been put away again. Next is to organize all the bigger kids clothes!
  • I am officially 1/3 finished my Christmas shopping for the kids! Haven't started on anyone else yet though!
That's it! I think that's pretty good though. Considering I'm caring for three young kids and a puppy too! lol Plus all the housework and yard work as well.

To Do...

Hubby left this morning at 2am. I hate that. Kids are crazy already.

Although, this is my month to get organized and I'm kind of excited! I really haven't done that in this house yet. And with another baby on the way I need to get going with this stuff! We really only have the month of November to focus on baby stuff together. Chad is gone for the month of October and December will be focusing on Christmas and filling the freezer with meals.

  • This month, I want to get lots of baking done! (Pumpkin bread, Zucchini muffins, Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, Apple spice muffins, Cinnamon Raisin cookies.)
  • I have lots of sewing to catch up on (Waiting on my fabric order right now.) A baby blanket for the new baby, A car seat cover since this baby is coming in the dead of winter! Hemming our new curtains for over the sink in the kitchen, And lots of mending that I've been putting off too.
  • I have lots of paper work and filing that needs to be done. I've been putting that off too.
  • Both the kids rooms need some revamping and decorating done. I'm stumped on what to do for Atticus' room. But I did purchase paint for the twins' room and the New babys' room.
  • I need to go through all the clothes the kids have outgrown and get it organized. I also want to sort through and put aside all of the newborn clothes we will need. Possibly get them washed and folded as well.
  • Get a head start on Christmas gifts for the kids. Get the order in for the family Christmas presents early as they need to be shipped this year too!
  • Decide on Christmas cards to mail out and order them early so I have lots of time to address them and send them out.
  • Try to figure out what the playroom in the basement will look like. It needs to be planned out now although we won`t be moving the playroom stuff down there until January.
I HOPE that`s all. When Chad is away, I usually just want to relax after the kids go to bed so hopefully I can get it all done.
